McManis Faulkner is proud to sponsor the first exhibition from the permanent collection of the SJMA, “Tending and Dreaming: Stories from the Collection.” The display occupies the Museum’s downstairs Gibson and Plaza galleries on the ground floor.
Paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos, and installations from nearly 50 artists across the Bay Area and beyond are featured in this exhibition from the museum’s permanent collection. Selected works introduce themes of local history, community, cultural diversity, materiality, the influence of technology, and more.
McManis Faulkner has been a long-time supporter of the SJMA. In addition to supporting and attending SJMA-affiliated events, McManis Faulkner has sponsored an exhibition at the Museum each year for over 20 years. The inaugural installation of “Tending and Dreaming” displayed works from artists that McManis Faulkner has previously supported, including Yolanda Lopez and Hung Liu.
The inaugural installation was unveiled at an Opening Night celebration on March 7, 2025. It will be on view for one year before rotating.
