McManis Appointed to Newly Established Task Force

James McManis has been appointed to the newly established Task Force on Admissions Regulation Reform. Concerned that law school students aren’t learning the basics of lawyering, the State Bar assembled the group to study whether practical skills training should become a condition of practicing law. Consisting of only 21 members, the Task Force is comprised of State Bar officials, lawyers and members of the public.  It will consider whether to adopt a practical skills training requirement for being admitted to practice law and, if so, the length and details of the training.
