Michael Reedy Part of Team That Wins National First Place Victory

Partner Michael Reedy served on a team of lawyers, judges, and law students that just won a prestigious First Place award from the American Inns of Court, a group having more than 25,000 current members. Michael is a member of the San Jose chapter of the American Inns of Court, the Honorable William A. Ingram Inn, which has about 110 members. Each Inn of Court is divided into pupilage groups, consisting of lawyers, judges, and law students. The pupilage groups prepare and present educational programs about legal issues, ethics, and professionalism. Outstanding programs can be nominated for national awards. Last year, the pupilage group of which Michael was a member presented a program called, Oral Advocacy: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, which was nominated for the best program of the year.

The American Inns of Court Program Awards Committee recently announced that the Ingram Inn of Court’s program presented by Michael’s pupilage group won the award for the best program of the year presented by any chapter of the American Inns of Court. Inn chapters in Philadelphia and Indianapolis won second and third place in this national competition. The winning San Jose team consisted of four judges, eight lawyers, and six law students from throughout Silicon Valley. Michael and the members of his pupilage group were not told in advance that their program had been nominated, so the news came as a complete surprise.

Michael, who recently was appointed Program Director for the Ingram Inn, said, “This national award is definitely a team win. It shows what hard work, good writing, and dedication can accomplish. I am especially pleased that this award honors Judge Ingram and the Ingram Inn of Court, which brings together talented and creative people in the name of civility and professionalism.”
