Develop your skills as a trial lawyer. SCCBA and McManis Faulkner team up to bring you “The Civil Trial Institute,” a six-hour workshop split into two days for lawyers to hear from judges and experienced practitioners and improve real-world trial skills through hands-on activities. Those who attend will hear tips on what to do—and not to do. A single hypothetical provided to registrants will provide a foundation for the 2-day institute.
Day 1 will be on October 13th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Judge Roberta Hayashi, Judge Socrates Manoukian, Amy Carlson, Sam Polverino, and Mark Shem will provide insight concerning pretrial topics, from preparing a case for trial through selecting a jury.
Day 2 will be on October 20th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The second evening will focus on the trial itself, from opening statement to summation. Partner Elizabeth Pipkin will be speaking on the Day 2 panel alongside Judge Sunil Kulkarni, Judge Patricia Lucas, Judge JoAnne McCracken, and Vince Parrett.
